GEIS North America

Privacy Policy

How we handle your business contact information, project inquiries, and advertising lead form submissions.

Last updated:

1. Who this policy covers

GEIS Electrical Protection North America (GEIS, we, or us) provides electrical protection and power distribution products for industrial, utility, data center, commercial, and infrastructure projects. This policy describes how we handle personal information in connection with geis-ep.com, business inquiries, and GEIS advertising lead forms, including LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms.

It applies to customers, prospective customers, consulting engineers, contractors, distributors, suppliers, and other business contacts. It does not replace confidentiality agreements or the commercial terms governing a project.

2. Information we collect

When you email us, request product information, discuss a project, or submit a lead form, we may receive your name, business email address, telephone number, employer, job title, business location, and communication preferences. We collect information you provide directly, information submitted through advertising platforms, and business contact details provided by colleagues or project partners in connection with an inquiry.

Project correspondence may include equipment requirements, voltage and current ratings, application details, specifications, single-line diagrams, delivery schedules, quotation information, and service requests. These materials may contain personal information, such as the names and contact details of project personnel. Please provide only information needed for your inquiry and that you are authorized to share. Do not submit passwords, sensitive personal information, or restricted security or operational details through advertising forms.

Our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, referral information, timestamps, and error or security logs when you visit the website.

3. How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries; provide catalogs, technical documents, and quotations; evaluate equipment suitability; coordinate engineering, delivery, commissioning, warranty, and support; and maintain business correspondence and project records.

We also use information to operate and protect the website, investigate misuse, understand the source and relevance of inquiries, comply with applicable obligations, and resolve disputes. Where permitted by applicable law and consistent with your preferences, we may send relevant product news, technical resources, or invitations. You may ask us to stop marketing communications at any time.

4. LinkedIn and other advertising lead forms

When you submit a GEIS lead form on LinkedIn or another advertising platform, GEIS receives the contact and professional details you choose to submit, your answers to project questions, and available form or campaign details. We use this information to deliver requested materials and have our sales or technical team follow up about your interest in GEIS products and services.

Any additional marketing use will be subject to the choices presented on the form and applicable law. You can decline further marketing without affecting a quotation, purchase, or support request. The advertising platform handles information on its own services under its own privacy policy; this policy covers GEIS’s handling of the information we receive.

5. When we share information

Information may be shared with GEIS personnel and affiliated engineering, manufacturing, sales, and service teams as needed to handle your request. Where necessary for a project, we may share relevant information with a distributor, representative, contractor, logistics provider, or other project partner. We limit disclosures to information relevant to their role.

Service providers supporting website hosting, email, document storage, security, and business administration may process information for those services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or transfer of business operations, subject to applicable protections. Business inquiry and lead form information is used for the purposes described here, not for sale to third-party marketers.

6. Cookies and external websites

We do not currently use advertising pixels or marketing analytics scripts on this website. Restricted document administration uses a session cookie for authentication. Hosting and security services may also process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may affect restricted features.

Links to LinkedIn, our international website, or other external services take you to services with their own privacy practices. This policy does not govern those services. If we introduce additional tracking that requires notice or consent, we will update the relevant disclosures and provide choices required by applicable law.

7. Retention and security

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy. Relevant factors include whether an inquiry remains active, the length of a customer relationship, equipment service and warranty needs, contractual requirements, and applicable recordkeeping obligations. Project and transaction records may need to be retained longer than an unsuccessful sales inquiry.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please contact us to arrange an appropriate channel before sending confidential project documentation.

8. International handling

GEIS works with teams and service providers in more than one country. Information may be accessed or processed in the United States, China, and other countries where relevant teams or providers operate. Privacy laws may differ from those in your location. Where applicable law requires safeguards for a transfer of personal information, we will use the required safeguards.

9. Your choices and privacy requests

You may ask us to correct your contact details, stop marketing follow-up, or delete information that is no longer needed. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may also have rights to access or obtain a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, appeal a decision on a privacy request, or complain to a relevant privacy authority. These rights may be subject to exceptions, including obligations to retain project or transaction records.

Send requests to sales@geis-ep.com with the subject “Privacy request.” Tell us how you have interacted with GEIS and what you would like us to do. We may request limited information to verify your identity or authority before acting. To stop marketing, reply to a GEIS marketing email or email us with the subject “Unsubscribe.” We may still send communications needed for an active project, transaction, or service request.

10. Children and policy changes

Our website, products, and advertising are intended for business professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can address it.

We may update this policy as our services or practices change. The updated version will appear on this page with a revised date. We will provide additional notice when required by applicable law.
