GE Industrial System invested its first manufacturing facility in Shanghai, China, for its medium and low voltage circuit breakers, and switchgear equipment, cast coil dry type transformers. Which is the center point of today's GEIS North America technology platform.

A greenfield factory was built to support production of Record Plus MCCBs, RCBO and mass production of worlds' 1st compact MCB "unibis". The completed range of low voltage components significantly improve the service capability to customers in Asia Pacific region
December 2019
GEIS was established as an independent brand for global markets following the separation of the business. From that point forward, the brand was positioned around a clearer international customer base and supply model.
